Pantone Color Not Detected

If a Pantone color is not detected by the Color tool, the artwork file may not contain the necessary Pantone metadata. This can occur in the following cases:

• The color was converted to CMYK before export.
• The spot color was renamed or rasterized during layer flattening.
• The design software did not preserve spot color channels due to incorrect PDF export settings.

✅ Solution

• Ensure Pantone colors are applied as Spot Colors within the design software.
• Do not flatten layers or convert spot colors to CMYK before exporting.
• Export the artwork as a PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4, making sure spot colors are preserved.

In Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, verify the color type and export settings before saving to ensure Pantone detection accuracy in ManageArtworks.
